Ruth Alice Kitchen

Ruth Alice Kitchen, age 91, a long-time Janesville resident passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Cottage Care Circle in Mauston, WI. She was born in Edgerton, WI on October 14, 1926, the daughter of Fred and Olga (Lietz) Heller. Ruth graduated from Edgerton High School in 1944. She married Lysle Kitchen on August 4, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1992. Ruth was employed by First National Bank (Chase Bank) as a teller/bookkeeper prior to retiring. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was active in the women’s circle and as a Sunday School teacher. She had been a member of Janesville Women of the Moose and TOPS. Ruth enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and going to the casinos.

Surviving are one son, Richard Kitchen of Madison, WI, one daughter, Pamela Louis of Wonewoc, WI, two granddaughters, Julie (Travis) Leamons and Jennifer Louis, a special great-granddaughter whose birthday was the same as Ruth’s, Kendra White, two step great- granddaughters, Samantha and Nicole Leamons, three sisters, Norma Kitchen, Frances Ford and Evelyn Reilly. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a grandson, Jason Nundahl as well as nine brothers and sisters, Lucille, Alma, Edwin, Robert, Louis, Willard, George, Maxine and Lester.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1422 Center Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Bruce Gray will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. The Kitchen family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
